Stop Smoking

By now you have came to the conclusion that trying to stop smoking with will power and discipline alone is pretty much an exercise in futility! “I stopped smoking three years ago, but then I started again.” Almost every time a person calls me about participating in my Become a non smokertmprogram,I hear something like that. They relate to me the number of times that they paused in there smoking habit for awhile, but if they are smoking again, then they never actually stopped. With willpower and discipline they took a break from smoking, that’s all – a break. The fact that they still smoke means that they were never a non smoker!

I will not disagree that nicotine is a component in smoking. But I will argue that it is not the nicotine that keeps one smoking. If it were – the pills, the shots, the gum and the medicine would turn everyone that used them into non smokers. But it doesn’t… they still smoke and you still smoke.  That’s because those products only treat the symptom – not the cause.

Smoking is a habit that resides in the cognitive maps of the subconscious mind. That’s why when people attempt to stop smoking with willpower and discipline alone, having the next cigarette is all that’s on their mind! The subconscious keeps the desire there all the time. It never leaves them!

We have two minds, the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. The subconscious is 90% stronger than the conscious. The subconscious mind is where we find our behavior, memory banks, creativity, imagination, moods cognitive maps and habits. Hello – did someone say habit? Isn’t smoking a habit? To break the habit of smoking one must make behavioral change in the subconscious mind. The only way that your subconscious can be accessed deliberately is through hypnosis. Hypnosis is the bridge to the subconscious mind.

What’s the solution? Since your urge to smoke is buried somewhere in the cognitive maps of your subconscious, doesn’t it make sense to use your subconscious mind to stop? Whether someone is local or flies in from out of state, I always see them three times within eight days. Most often they are a non smoker after the first session. We use the other two sessions for reinforcement – hence the guarantee for life!
